My three goals I have set myself for my future in my career:

1. My first goal is to get my grades in my GCSE'S and work extremely hard to keep on top of my work.

2. My second goal is to continue working hard at building my strength up and working on my development at different styles of dance.
When I achieved to hold my leg up without needing help!!

3. My third goal is to work hard in Post 16 in my dance classes and all to time and to keep an open mind in different style options.

Shows

Shows I have been in...

I done my first show when i was 5 at Her Majesty's Theatre in Haymarket, the show was with my dance school Italia Conti Associates (Chislehurst), we have also done a number of shows in many Theatre's e.g. The Stag Theartre in Sevenoaks, The Orchard in Dartford etc.

Recently at my school Brit School we put on our show 12th Night and we had guest choreographers klickzs come in to help us with our commercial style dance, it was good learning a style I usually wouldn't.

From performing in all these shows I knew from the moment I first performed at the age of 5 that performing on the stage is exactly what i want to do. Because of the lights, make-up, costumes and the teachers who helped put the show together I wouldn't be able to be doing what I am doing right now.

My official moment I knew was when I performed on 6th of April 2014 at The Stag Theatre in Sevenoaks 'Putting on The Glitz'. I had the best time performing to family and friends who have seen me develop into the dancer/person I am today. I knew that this show was a big moment for me and my friends to show off what we have worked hard for. My best dance must have been our 'Rock of Ages' number when we really got into character and had so much fun. if I could do it again I would and it would be just as good. Also this was year my teacher gave me a solo in show, I also had my close friend singing the song I was dancing to 'All of Me' (by John Legend) and i had my friends supporting me throughout. This is what I am meant to be doing this was just a dream and still is but it had officially become reality to me!

Targets

My targets in Year 10:

1. I want to be in left leg splits by 2013 summer or before.

2. I want to build my core strength up and also my strength in my arms and legs.

3. I WILL workout most days at home as well as in school and my dance school.

4. I will keep my course work for dance up to date and also in all my other subjects.

5. I will work on my dynamics and having diversity when I dance.

My targets (have i met my Year 10 targets):

1. I have met my 1st target as I am now in left leg splits but and still not comfortable so it's just me getting used to them.

2. I have built muscle in my legs and some in my core strength now it is for me to control and when to use now (under layer of muscle in my stomach).

3. I have been working out most days, but I haven't always kept up with it but I do always workout at my dance school.

4. I haven't kept on top of all my course work in all my subjects i have just recently become on top of all of it.

5. I have definitely worked hard on my different dynamics when i dance and learning different styles I wouldn't usually learn.

My Progression since Year 10

My Progression since Year 10...

Since Year 10 i have learnt to use my facial expressions and develop them to use in the right way, and i still am. I believe i have become more flexible with dance styles (versatile) and within dance as i can now do left leg splits but with a bit of struggle sometimes, also i am very near box splits with  bit more practise i will be in them, my aim is to be in them by the end of summer.

Also i have learnt to use more dynamics when i'm dancing to give it a different style.

Stengths and weaknesses

My Strengths and Improvements???...

My improvements...
I need to improve on my focus and structure to  my dance and then i can lose all that by getting distracted. What i need to do to make myself stronger is block all of that out. Physically my weakness is my strength meaning i have flexibility but i can't hold it so i need to work on my core strength and work hard so i become immune to it.

My strengths...
My strengths is that i have flexibility and that i have good choreography. I am good at improvising and picking up things really quickly.

My Inspiration....

The person who has inspired me the most in dance has to be my dance teachers as have grown up around them and their dance style/technique that i love doing and would love to continue doing in my career. This is because they pushed me hard to be how I am today and their influences have been passed on to me.

As for celebrity inspiration it must Beyonce Knowles because from a little girl I have watched her videos and even tried to copy her routines!!!! She has amazing performing presence and stands out against the other performers.

My experience so far...

My Experience So Far...

Hi my name is Isabel Wilkinson i am 14 years old an i am in year 10. I have been dancing from the age of 3 at Italia Conti Associates Chislehurst. i have perfomed on West End stages e.g. Her Majesty's theatre, Picadilly theartre, Ashcroft theartre, Stag theartre and more.

In 2011 i choreogrphed dances for a Pantomime 'Nursery Rhyme Land' for St John's church in Crystal Palace/Anerley. I had to teach to a group of 3-5 year olds and some 12 year olds and my experience of it really opened my eyes on teaching wise!!!!!

I have also worked with BADS (Beckenham Amateur Dramatics Society). They asked me to choreograph and perform a tap routine and a contemporary dance. It was to raise money for St George's Church Beckenham.

My most recent dance show/piece i did was St George's Church Pantomime 'Sinbad The Sailor' (2012) which i usually act in but i just performed and choreographed two pieces 'Spirit of the Desert and Spirit of the Sea' which was two contrast in dances from a belly dance style to flowy and more contemporary. I had to choose my own music and i chose for my sea dance 'Kenny G's-My Heart Will Go On (instrumenntal) and for my desert dance it was a zumba type song.
I REALLY ENJOYED MYSELF!!!!!!!!!!

In 2012 i took my GCSE Dance course two years early at Italia Conti Chislehurst and i got a 'B' which i was very please with.

I am now currently studying dance at the Brit School for Performing Arts and Technology but this time it is a B-TEC and we study mainly contemporary and jazz. There is a show coming up soon that the year 10's are performing in (it's mainly the year 11's show that years 10's have a piece in it) the show is called 'The Anything Box'. Can't wait to perform our very first show/piece at the Brit School.
